About the BLOG.
As a little girl, I dreamt of princes, princesses, and happily ever afters. I wanted what I didn’t have...one set of parents who lived together, loved each other, and raised their family all under one roof. In my mind, I wanted a two story white house, with a circular drive out front, and a picket fence. Somehow those things symbolized a perfect home, marriage, and family. I went to college with that one purpose in mind: find the perfect guy, get married, have a family, and live happily ever after. I thought I found the perfect guy, and I somehow convinced him that I was the perfect girl, and we were married December 6, 1986. It wasn’t long into my marriage when I realized that he wasn’t perfect, and I imagine it took him even less time to figure out that I wasn’t perfect either. Over the years we have survived the storms of marriage and, to be honest, there were times when those storms felt more like hurricanes rather than a tropical storm. Yet by God’s grace, we survived. Year after year, I sought the picket-fence life and the perfection and joy that I thought would come along with it. In the spring of 2020 my husband built me a picket fence and during the summer of 2020 the vision of my blog began to stir deeply inside my heart. My picket fence is beautiful, my husband is all I need on earth, my children are amazing, and my grandchildren are what keep me striving daily to be a better version of myself....but the cross and what it represents is perfection, and through Jesus I have realized that marriage and family aren’t perfect. However, through every single imperfection, I am drawn closer to the One who brings me true joy. I am thankful for every storm, every torn down picket, and every aspect of maintenance that is needed. Those things bring me to my knees and when I am on my knees I find myself closest to Him. He is the cross beyond the picket fence that I sought after for so many years but never knew it. He is the faithful One who never leaves nor forsakes me or you. He is the answer...truly He is the Way, the Truth, and the Light and I am thankful that the cross where He suffered is the very place where I was healed!
About ME.
Well hello there! I am thankful you have made your way to my blog! No matter the turns you took on your way to get here, my prayer is that each time you read a post, you will turn to Jesus!
My name is Patti, plain and simple. No Patricia, no middle name...just Patti. I have been married to one man since 1986. We live in a small town (population ~ 3800), have a family business, and enjoy the blessings of seeing all of our children and grandchildren on an almost daily basis. We have three unique, amazing, and beautiful daughters, who encourage me daily to turn to Jesus. We have two (soon to be three) son-in-laws, whom I consider my own sons. We have four grandchildren (so far): three girls and one boy. And as ironic as it may be...I live in a two story white house, have a circular drive out front, and yes, a picket fence.
I love Jesus the mostest and my family the most. I enjoy writing, good food, a quick (sometimes long) nap, warm sunshine, and shopping of pretty much any kind, any time, and any place!
How can I be praying with you?
Prayer changes things.
Let’s join in prayer together.
